WHERE

Glenhope is privately owned and operated by our loyal farming clients Simon and Melissa Turner. Their property is 650ha effective and is run as a high performing commercial sheep and beef breeding and finishing operation, with a small Romney ram stud providing diversity to farm policies.

Glenhope is located one hour northwest of Hastings and is part of the friendly and active farming community of Puketitiri. Its location provides a summer safe farming operation with a good mix of flat, rolling hill to steeper country. There is plenty of dog work available and the farm has well-established infrastructure in place allowing for good working conditions.

Simon and Melissa take pride in developing their employees and they ideally encourage a two-year term in this Experienced Shepherd role. This will be the eighth time Rural Directions have placed into this role with all appointees reporting very positive experiences and career development.

At times you will be required to organise and work with casual staff members. RTs are used for on-farm communication.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for highly regarded owners who will encourage and support your personal development and over time as you gain confidence further responsibility will be added.
